I am a CA Licensed Acupuncturist, Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and Certified Massage Therapist. My practice focuses on keeping the mind, body and soul harmonized which helps support a healthy lifestyle. Each session is customized for the patient and their needs.
With over 10 years of martial arts experience (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai and Boxing) and over 15 years of exercise experience (Triathlons, Spinning Instructor and Weightlifting). I am well versed with musculo-skeletal issues; sports-related injuries as well as gym enthusiasts who are looking to achieve the competitive edge in their sport.
Understanding how the body moves and that it’s all interconnected, allows me to have a greater ability to evaluate injuries and problem solve the source of the pain. By increasing circulation to injured areas, acupuncture helps to reduce inflammation, swelling and pain; enabling the the body to speed up the recovery process.
Along with my exercise/sports-related experience I am certified in Nutritional Therapy. Physical ability doesn't start on the outside, but instead begins on the inside. Proper nutrition and digestion health are the fundamental components to a healthy body. Fueling the body with whole foods and proper hydration provides the body with the necessary nutrients and vitamins to develop muscle and sustain energy. It's well known that eating a well balanced diet with whole foods has a direct effect on brain health and a strong immune system.
Are you looking for the competitive edge? Do you get nervous before an event or competition? Remove mental and emotional road blocks with support through stress relief, anxiety, depression and sleep disharmony.
As an acupuncturist, my clinical and diagnostic approach is focused around channel palpation. During each session I use traditional examination techniques including pulse and tongue diagnosis, along with channel palpation and physical exam testing. The channels, which are energetic pathways, hold memories of our health. As I gently palpate the channels I can identify and diagnose channel obstructions, which are charted and used to help identify which channels might be best used during the acupuncture treatment.
When I'm not in the office you can find me out and about in with my dog. We love going to the beach and getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city or running around chasing pine cones in Glen Canyon Park. I enjoy experimenting in the kitchen trying to find new healthy and delicious recipes to share with family and friends.
